[Publi-reportage] HUAWEI SEEDS FOR THE FUTURE 2022 : 40 Students Participate in Training Program

For this 6th edition of "Huawei Seeds for the Future" in Mauritius, 40 students from 5 universities will take part in the 8-day training program to discover a growing digital ecosystem.

Huawei Mauritius hosted its 6th edition of Seeds for the Future Program. In collaboration with HUAWEI’s partnered ICT Academies, 40 outstanding students were selected amongst all applications. To date, more than 180 undergraduates of engineering have participated in the Mauritius Seeds for the Future program.

For this 6th edition, students will take part in the 8-day training program starting on the 10th October 2022. Those students were selected from the 5 tertiary institutions on the island that subscribed to the Huawei ICT Academy, namely, University of Mauritius (UOM), the University of Technology (UTM), the African Leadership University (ALU), Middlesex University Mauritius, and University des Mascareignes. They will have the opportunity to discover Cross-cultural sharing that includes history, culture, and civilization and immerse themselves in the digital economy on dedicated online learning platforms. To learn about the product design and problem solutions through a virtual visit to China’s companies, understand the realization path to success.

The Head of Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at University of Mauritius, Mr. Anshu Murdan, congratulated the selected students. “Today, technology plays a crucial role in training and education, digitalization is unstoppable. The Seeds for the Future program is a good opportunity to engineering students who wish to join ICT sector. Congratulations to the participants from University of Mauritius and other universities, wish you all make most of this opportunity and driving the digitalization in Mauritius.”

Mr. EYDATOULAH Shaffeeq, director of Delivery & Service, Huawei Mauritius, added that « To meet the challenges in today’s world, students must develop their technological culture and confront themselves with the latest innovations. Student immersion in this program places innovation at the heart of the program, both through the curriculum and through online training with our representatives from Huawei labs in Shenzhen. This program demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to skill transformation in Mauritius.

“This year, new topics have been integrated in the virtual program, for example Tech Enterprise live visit and talks in addition to hot topics like Metaverse, Digital Power and Z era amongst others. Excellent trainees will get the opportunity to join Huawei Mauritius Office for internship, and also have the chance to be further trained in our Regional Headquarter.” Mr. Shaffeeq added.
