« The consultant must assess all previous brand campaign amongst ‘Mauritius – “C’est un Plaisir” and other distinct promotions by institutions engaged in the six elements from the Nation Brand Hexagon, to evaluate their impacts and shortcomings. The new cliché will need to encompass the economic, diversity, social and democratic stability and cultural strength of Mauritius. The methodology to be adopted should take into consideration views and suggestions of stakeholders in the six categories (Nation Brand Hexagon) including representatives of Public, Private & Civic Sector and focal points of International Institutions », note la MTPA.

Pour développer le nouveau branding, la firme de consultants sera appelée à avoir une série de consultations, vec la MTPA notant que « ultimately, the exercise is to develop a National Brand where people of all walks of life, stakeholders including the business community, industry captains, investors, international buyers, youth, tourists, academics, civil society organizations, etc. should feel the superiority and uniqueness of the Mauritius offer ».

En ce qui concerne l’investissement et l’immigration, la MTPA souhaite présenter Maurice « as a business centre of excellence – to propose a comprehensive audit process to support the need to focus on key market(s) (traditional, emerging and/or new) for each geographic region.

Le patrimoine hôtelier de Maurice devra également être mis en valeur et également « showcasing the uniqueness of the island where people originate from different civilisations & culture and has melted into a warm and cosmopolite citizen. There are many historical sites that have even been recognised by Unesco World Heritage Centre. The country is rich in its history, having been discovered by Arabs and colonized by Dutch, French and British.

« Mauritius is targeting higher value, longer staying visitors. It seeks to attract people who wish to explore a destination, including looking at multi-centre options. Mauritius is more than just a beach destination. The brand must Speak to the world and be evocative enough to cut through in traditional markets in Europe, India and South Africa and penetrate new emerging markets such as the Nordics, Eastern Europe, South East Asia, East Asia, Middle East and Africa,be innovative and fresh and look genuine in its capability to deliver on its promises in the mind of the travel trade and tourists, be catchy and vivid for use in multi communication channels in different markets, particularly online, allow to integrate seamlessly with tourism segments such as cruise, golf, MICE, sports, culture, business travel amongst others, have a static and animated version of the brand,» prévoit la MTPA dans le cadre de ce nouvel exercice de Rebranding.
