Leading from the front is a conventional type of leadership that we all know.  It implies getting up on a podium, giving a speech and inviting people to follow.  But it seems that the world is in search of a different kind of leadership which takes the back seat and moves people towards taking responsibility and creating the shared vision.

And part of the explanation is that trickle-down economics doesn't work. Interesting. Would the Minister kindly then tell us (i) what has been tried in Mauritius since 2005 and (ii) whether it has worked? Sounds like a PQ, eh? But it's not. So I can ask this last part: (iii) is that consistent with the DNA of the Labour Party?

American voters gave Barack Obama a second term on Tuesday, affirming that he should have more time to finish the agenda he proposed when first elected in 2008. That could be good news for African countries like Mauritius that trade with the United States, as Obama has pledged his support for renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act, which will expire in 2015.

Millions of people around the globe watched the most expensive and decisive presidential election that took place in the most powerful country in the world and without any doubt it was a feisty fight between the red and blue states.

Both President Barack Obama and Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney fought a very long campaign in an increasingly tight poll and the beauty of it is that both candidates behaved in a civilised, matured and professional manner.

Than the one Romney won against Obama. Biden was definitely more confident and slammed his opponent with the 47% controversy.

Than the one Romney won against Obama. Biden was definitely more confident and slammed his opponent with the 47% controversy. It was also a very relevant debate for us here in Mauritius because we are grappling with almost identical issues (save the military ones): low and unsustainable tax rates that create a debt mountain and hinder growth, competitiveness (btw, no one advocated any idiotic "competitive depreciation"), health care and even abortion.
