Among the four candidates for the Labour leadership it may be said that perhaps, in terms of personality, Andy Burnham’s good looks and Yvette Cooper’s exuberance may carry some weight but, together with the nonplus Liz Kendall, they did not seem convincing during the television debate in June last. They did not exude the same sincerity and confidence that naturally came out of Jeremy Corbyn who looked more mature and sincere in his delivery, a trait that is causing concern to some party members and more so to the political foes.

L’appel interjeté par le Groupement des réfugiés des Chagos mené par Olivier Bancoult au sujet du droit de retour inaliénable dans l’archipel devant la Cour européenne des droits de l’Homme a subi un contretemps. Londres a sollicité et obtenu un report de l’échéance pour les « final submissions » devant cette instance internationale.
