The universe has been defined variously since decades now. From scriptures to scientific research people are now mostly aware of its existence and draw out their own conclusions and opinions. However, after deep analysis and understandings, we have been able to acknowledge that the universe is a vast yet particular sphere of activity and experience.
Nevertheless, those who have adopted the spiritual path give us a deeper knowledge of this phenomenal cosmos.
According to Sadhguru, “modern science proves that the whole existence is just vibration. This is not my invention; it is a scientific fact. Where there is a vibration, there is bound to be a sound. You are not just a vibration; you are a sound. This is what modern science is telling you. And somewhere, way back, someone told you that first there was a word, and the word is God.’’
We must allow ourselves a ‘me time’
Thus a simple reflection upon my journey practising yoga and meditation made me conclude that often in our daily lives, as human beings, we are mostly attracted to material things and we tend to forget about the natural process. Indeed, it’s pleasant to have some kind of comfortable material luxuries but the best and most luxurious things are found in nature and within us. Within the human body. We usually run after commodities that are sometimes not meant to be for us. Unfortunately, at last, we find ourselves astray with nothing left and even the last piece of hope we had is shattered. Moreover, as human beings in this world of constant development with its vast area of modern technologies, we are all busy with our hectic schedules. We do not allow ourselves a “me time.’’
Indeed, it leaves us to ponder that despite being busy in a hectic world, we still find time to look for answers or explanations of mostly everything. It also happens that we get bored, tired, and irritated for not finding any answers or understandings to our endless questions and hypothesis. This frustration is all normal and occurs because most of the time we look at certain things with only one perspective of the world. We tend to forget that we are part of nature, and our body is a part of the universe, an impressive piece of this phenomenal cosmos. It is the place where the maximum of chemical reactions occurs. ’’The human body is the most complex chemical factory on the planet.’’-(Sadhguru). Thus, some endless questions may have their answers not in the outer world but in the inner one which is our own self.
We have everything to overcome obstacles
We have everything in our own body to overcome various obstacles when they erupt in our life. This can be achieved by the daily practice of meditation and with time all those unanswered questions will find their actual proper answers. However, the concept of meditation has been misunderstood over the years. It is presumed in certain quarters that meditation is a way to get close to evil or it is a sort of demoniac practice. Contrariwise, meditation is a quality that someone acquires over years of practice. “One fundamental thing that we need to understand is that you cannot do meditation because meditation is a quality. A quality is a consequence of a certain process.’’ -Sadhguru
Meditation helps an individual to discover and experience the scope and possibilities of life. This quality of life doesn’t oblige someone to forsake his religious beliefs and cultures. It’s only a process that helps the individual to maintain a certain balance in his life be it physically, mentally, and emotionally. Sadhguru says: “Meditation is not concentration, contemplation or about calling for gods. To become meditative means a little space arises between you and these two accumulations of body and mind. You gathered both these dimensions of physical body and mind over a period.’’
Meditation, a tool to overcome turbulences
Moreover, as the world has evolved since centuries now, it is noticed that youngsters have fallen apart from meditative and other practices that were once considered as effective and efficient for the well-being of the human system. Youngsters are somehow not properly taught and explained about it, or they are scared of the reactions of their peers if they find out that he/she is an adept of meditation. However, one should understand that no matter what you do, you will never always be able to please everyone on this planet. One should be able to cultivate self-acceptance. It does not mean that when you follow a certain way of life that you are deprived from other activities. Contrariwise, this way of life will help you to thrive through the different dimensions of life. “The more you become conscious of your actions, the more you gain control over what happens within you and, to a large extent, around you.’’- Sadhguru.
Being meditative will in the long run help you navigate tirelessly when stormy waves hit the vessel of your life. This way of life will teach you how to maintain a balance and poise. Meditation will show you the way if you pay prompt attention to its deep significance. “We can teach you how to be a great manager of this factory, so you are always absolutely blissed out.’’– Sadhguru.
Showcase yourself freely and convincingly
To all the youth out there, never be afraid to showcase yourself freely as to who you are and what you believe in. Always remember that others judgement on your spiritual practices should not be a barrier to stop doing what’s important for your soul. ‘’The highest force in existence is consciousness, and you are that.’’-Sadhguru. Even if your peers walk away from you, that would be the golden opportunity to show of what mettle you are made. So as an individual on this planet you will have to decide whether you stick to being yourself and to your root for your well-being or just dismiss them all just for the sake to get your peers back. ‘’Fear is a consequence of being unconscious. Being fearful does not save us. Only by being conscious, can we manage the situations.’’– Sadhguru.
This is all up to you. But always keep this in mind that those who will stand up for you will never be ashamed of who you are, where you come from and what your practices are. They will always be here as your friends even though they don’t believe in your way of life. “When you consciously choose to be ordinary, you become extraordinary.’’– Sadhguru.
And that’s another way to cultivate a spirit of detachment that shields us from being hurt or affected by others’ opinions about us. “Detachment does not mean non-involvement. You can be deeply involved but not entangled.’’– Sadhguru. Lastly these occurrences or experiences may either be a phase or a created dimension for you to raise yourself to access consciousness and awareness to redirect yourself for your ultimate journey of life on this planet. “When your experience of life is pleasant, your body and brains function best.’’– Sadhguru.
