« It was following the firmed and principled stand of the AMLEU to defend the rights of the AML employees that all the troubles against AMLEU and its President started. Management refused to hold meetings and negotiate anything with the Union. This, despite the existence of the Procedure Agreement and the provisions of the law. Management thus denied the employees and their union, the rights to have their say or object to any decisions detrimental to them », écrit Ashok Subron dans la lettre.

« AMLEU, then, filed a case at the ICAC in 07th January 2019 with regards to the Pension Fund. Shortlyafter, Management of AML deposited Rs 230M in the Pension Fund that was short in the fund as affirmed by the then IOC during a meeting. Following the above, on the 24th of January 2019, the President of AMLEU was served a letter on alleged gross misconduct in relation to the letter sent to DCA pertaining to promotion and recruitment. While the disciplinary actions was initiated against AMLEU President, the issues raised in the letter to DCA, was validated, as those concerned were shortly after, promoted, and recruitment performed », poursuit Ashok Subron dans la lettre.

« It would be a strong signal to all workers and unions of this country for the government to mark the kick off year 2020 and the present government new mandate. Hon Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, you as Minister responsible for the IVTB, and Hon Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, know very well what is meant by state institutions’ harassment against a Union President. Would you just now let the same kind harassment turned into persecution and result in the AML’s dismissal of the President of AMLEU ? You both, have the power to stop the AML Disciplinary Committee of Friday 17th January 2020. It is your duty to act », conclut Ashok Subron dans la lettre.
