Israël a annoncé avoir libéré lundi 1.968 prisonniers palestiniens en échange de la libération des 20 derniers otages vivants qui étaient encore retenus captifs par le Hamas dans la bande de Gaza.
« L’administration pénitentiaire israélienne a procédé à la libération des terroristes emprisonnés conformément à l’accord de retour des otages » dans le cadre du cessez-le-feu conclu entre Israël et le Hamas, indique un communiqué officiel.

Au total, « 1.968 terroristes ont été libérés de la prison [militaire] d’Ofer [en Cisjordanie occupée] vers [ce territoire, y compris à] Jérusalem-Est [annexée par Israël], et [ont été acheminés] de la prison de Ktziot [dans le sud d’Israël] vers » la bande de Gaza, ajoute ce communiqué de l’administration pénitentiaire.
