ARBITRAGE INTERNATIONAL: Roshi Bhadain confirme la présence du SG de l’ONU

Le ministre des Services financiers : « The ICCA Congress will not only be a platform to promote arbitration but also to launch Mauritius as a hub for international arbitration »
Le ministre des Services financiers et de la Bonne Gouvernance, Roshi Bhadain, a confirmé la participation du secrétaire général des Nations unies, Ban Ki-moon, à la 23e édition de l’International Council of Commercial Arbitration Congress (ICCA).
Cette manifestation se déroulera du 8 au 11 mai à Maurice. Participeront également à ces délibérations portant sur l’arbitrage international le Prix Nobel de la paix, le Dr Mohammad El Baradei, directeur général de l’International Atomic Energy Agency, et des « arbitrators, lawyers, scholars and researchers of world repute including law lords, Ministers, Attorney-Generals and Chiefs Justice », soit un total de quelque 800 personnalités étrangères.
Présentant ce congrès lors du Statement Time, hier, Roshi Bhadain, a soutenu que « the ICCA Congress will not only be a platform to promote arbitration as an alternative to dispute resolution but also to launch Mauritius as a hub for international arbitration. It must be recalled that this international event becomes a logical sequence to the launching of Mauritius by the Financial Services Promotion Agency ». Il se félicite du fait que « in its fifty years of history, this is the first time that the Congress is being held in Africa. It is a matter of pride that Mauritius has been retained to host this international event ».
Roshi Bhadain ajoute que « it is an opportunity to showcase our international arbitration project. Mauritius is today perceived as the foremost and most reliable seat for international arbitration in Africa, as the first cases start to come through to our international arbitration centre, the LCIA-MIAC, and to the Mauritius office of the Permanent Court of Arbitration ».
Le programme de la conférence prévoit une Key Note Address du Prix Nobel de la paix le 8 mai à L’Aventure du Sucre et une autre du secrétaire général des Nations unies le 9 au Swami Vivekananda International Centre de Pailles.
