ÉCURIE VINCENT ALLET : Very happy with the way things are going, said Dereck David

« Everything is going nicely at the moment. I had nice winners so far and I cannot complain. It’s a lot better than I expected. The horses are running well and the team is clicking. And you know, when a team is clicking, it’s hard to break that partnership », a déclaré un Dereck David tout sourire à sa sortie de la jockey’s room samedi dernier.
« In all honesty I was not expecting such a good start. When I spoke to Vincent over the phone earlier in the year, he told me not to expect anything big as he is building the stable for the future. Having nine winners and sitting third on the log is quite a big achievement. I can only be happy with the way things are going », a-t-il soutenu.
« Hail Atlantis is more effective with a good draw »
« Actually, I was not expecting him to go that fast but he pulled quite badly. When horses pull like that, they usually stop. He did get tired in the last 25 metres but found that little extra to pass the post first. I think he is the kind of horse that is more effective with a good draw. With a good draw, it is easier to go to the front. If you are drawn wide in a race like that, it obviously reduces your chances to win », a expliqué le notre interlocuteur.
« He ran a very nice race on 1600m last time. 1850m is obviously a lot better for him. When I looked at the field, Eagle Award was certainly a hard opponent to overcome but when I asked him to run and catch the latter, he did it in a very good style. However, he took quite some time to get going as he is a very big horse. This track does not really suit him but being able to win on such a tight circuit is a big achievement for him. »
« He was very disappointing. He pulled all the way through. I think we must draw a line on that race. Hopefully we will see a better Hot Rocket next time.»
« Joyful ran a very good race. Forest Shelter was the horse to beat and we were so closing of beating him. But I’m happy with his performance. He gave me the same feeling as when he won his first race this year. Jack Flash should have finished second but got badly interfered with on the rails. He fought back well to finish fourth. He is probably not the kind of horse that the public could follow but he is a game horse. I think he should win at least once this year. »
