MONDE DU TRAVAIL: La CCM fait sourciller la FTU

Dans une lettre de protestation au ministre du Travail Shakeel Mohamed vendredi, le président de la Fédération des travailleurs unis (FTU) Atma Shanto revient sur une réunion conduite jeudi par le vice-président de la Commission conciliation et médiation (CCM). Les consultations portaient sur un « dispute of right » survenu le 20 octobre 2011 entre une entreprise de construction et le Syndicat des travailleurs des établissements privés.
« During the course of hearing, in the presence of the Mauritius Employers Federation, we have been made to understand, as this is a dispute of right it should have been refered to either the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Labour & Industrial Relations or Employment Relations Tribunal », explique Atma Shanto à Shakeel Mohamed.
Les instructions reçues, avance le président de la FTU, indiquent ainsi en d’autres termes que « toutes les disputes of right doivent être finalement rejetées par la CCM ». « Being barrister at law you know quite well that trade union representatives are not legally allowed to argue before the Tribunal on matters related to law. Therefore trade unions shall be bound to retain services of counsel in any dispute of right. This unilateral decision of the Commission clearly supports the interest of the private sector which the Federation des Travailleurs Unis is firmly protesting », écrit Atma Shanto.
