Kumi Naidoo, Executive Director de Greenpeace International aux Pays-Bas, organisme accusé par le gouvernement mauricien d’avoir soutenu le projet de Marine Protected Area dans l’archipel de Chagos suite à la demande de mouillage du 12 au 14 octobre de son navire le SY Rainbow Warrior, dissipe des doutes en affirmant que « the UK Government committed a terrible historic wrong against the Chagossians » et que « our support of the Marine Protected Area was, and remains, subject to the clear proviso that it should be wiuthout prejudice to the rights of the Chagossians or the sovereignty claim of Mauritius. »
