The government has stated its vision for a better Mauritius with 100,000 jobs to come in the wake of a number of ambitious projects.
Nothing being impossible, we would like to believe that the economic miracle will happen.
But will it ensure an improved Mauritius? A strong feeling pervading every corner of the island is that with the proliferation of drugs, especially among the young, runaway corruption, and astonishing wastage and extravagance (as practised by the previous government) are rendering the island an unpleasant place.
