« The different measures accompanying the opening of supermarkets have not proved the intention of Government to contain the infection. In fact, with the flux of people queuing on the parking of every supermarket, Government is implicitly contributing to an aggravation of the situation », dit le syndicaliste.

« Prime Minister, I believe that it is wiser to stop the mess immediately. Government can work out a safer method in collaboration with owners of supermarkets. To this end, I am proposing that a defined stock of basic requirements (commodities and other ancillary stuffs) for an average home be prepared by workers of the supermarket, sealed and price-tagged. Each such stock be placed in a caddy. Everyone takes a caddy, goes to the cashier, clears their purchase and move out. This would take almost 5 minutes per person », suggère-t-il.

« In the alternative, supermarkets undertake a mobile sale of the pre-prepared stock using their vehicles with a small additional fee to cover transport. The above arrangements, academic at this stage, may be refined and retuned in line with unforeseen exigencies. Whatever be your decision in the light of the above, our ultimate aim must be the safeguard of the population », conclut Narendranath Gopee.
