Previously when in your prime

As an all-round athlete, we came

Under your influence

Learning the art of physical fitness;

George V stadium sporting events

Invariably proved special in many ways,

Bravura and brawns on display, yet

Lots of other personal qualities were

Of overall importance, such that

Temperateness counted as a forte;

Diverse interests you would acquire

Under changing circumstances,

Conducive to your passion,

Rallying your creative mind and spirit,

And in unremitting earnestness

Yearning for a life rounded, complete.
