Voyage refusé au directeur  de la TEC
Même si ce n’est pas une affaire très récente, le dossier remonte à la surface au fur et à mesure que les carences du directeur de la Tertiary Education Commission sont mises en lumière. On parle d’un courrier diplomatique mais assez sévère que lui avait expédié l’ancien président de la TEC. Dans cette correspondance en date du 14 mars 2014, le Professeur Donald Ah Chuen refuse à Anil Kumar Bhakshi l’autorisation d’aller participer à une Career Guidance Expo à Rodrigues en disant estimer que les deux personnes désignées peuvent parfaitement faire l’affaire. Pour justifier ce refus, le président de la TEC ne manque pas de rappeler au directeur que “we are going through a time when there are many matters of great priority for you, as Executive Director, to attend to, such as inter alia (1) recommendations to the Board for a new organization structure of TEC ; (2) follow-up on the problems of the 5 local Tertiary Education Institutions affiliated to the Indian Universities which need to regularize their status with UGC/Central Government of India in regard to their overseas operations, and ; (3) the consequences of the allegations of non-compliance by DY Patil Medical college in its implementation of the Clinical Training Requirements, coupled with the need for you to assist the Fact-Finding Committee in regard to its 4th Term of Reference.  Under these circumstances, I strongly believe that it is not advisable for you at the moment to travel overseas, and instead you are advised to undertake the exercise of your role and responsibility of TEC’s Executive Director within Mauritius itself”.
Et de conclure que “I therefore regret to be unable to approve your request to travel to Rodrigues to attend the Careers Guidance Expo”. Et adieu escapade rodriguaise !
