« The bank has had to reassure its customers, mostly non-residents, and the public at large this very morning itself that it has no intention of leaving Mauritius, after having been in operation here for the last 20 years », souligne la direction de cette banque, qui a été en contact avec les autorités compétentes à Maurice.

« The concerted efforts by each and everybody—including the government, the Bank of Mauritius, the Financial Services Commission, the Economic Development Board, banks, management companies, etc.—to uphold, promote, and increase visibility on our jurisdiction are seriously frustrated by irresponsible statements from Honourable Adrien Duval in the parliament that large international banks are leaving Mauritius. Such unfounded remarks weaken confidence in our banking and financial sector, and undermine our coordinate efforts. They have damaging effects on foreign investors’ confidence and the reputation of our jurisdiction », fait-on comprendre à ce sujet.
