Our planet still engulfed by:
the flames of Covid19,
Our schools still threatened by:
the jaws of uncertainty,
We, children, still trapped by:
the odds of the ‘New Normal’
Our teachers united as soldiers,
Hearing the rumbles of the deadly virus too,
Yet, bracing us up with words of encouragement
Reading the jumbled thoughts flashing through our minds,
Yet, reassuring us of our bright future
Our soldiers, shielding us against the crumbled walls
We, students, remain our teachers’ beloved children
For no matter the depth of the spilled ink’s scars,
they’ll keep adding colours to our lives’ canvas
For no matter how lost we might feel,
they’ll keep going the extra mile to redirect us.
