17 sportifs bénéficieront désormais de l’allocation de la High Level Sports Unit du ministère de l’Autonomisation de la Jeunesse, des Sports et des Loisirs. Trois ont été classés dans la catégorie mondiale, huit en continentale et six en régionale. Toutefois, 12 sportifs ont été sanctionnés, soit huit dont leur dossier sont en suspens, alors que quatre autres ne figurent plus sur cette liste.
Après une longue traversée et des sacrifices, ils sont enfin récompensés ! 17 nouveaux boursiers seront soulagés, du moins au niveau financier, jusqu’à la fin de l’année. Dans la catégorie mondiale, les adeptes de boxe française Brian Fils, Olivier Lafleur et Sharone Clair bénéficient depuis octobre d’une somme de Rs 13 125 pour le premier nommé, et Rs 12 000 pour les deux autres. Dans la catégorie continentale (kickboxing), sept nouvelles têtes ont fait leur entrée : Donovan Lisette, Sibella Leelah, Jérémy Rabais, Shanick Cousine, Emmanuel Dalon, Naël Ravina et Stania Rathbone. Alors que dans la section régionale, six sportifs, à savoir les deux boxeurs Cédric Olivier et David Rolfo, trois judokas, nommément Noémie Évenor, Kimberley Jean-Pierre et Louis Daniel Bégué, ainsi que le handisportif Jean-François Sénèque, percevront des sommes Rs 4 875 et Rs 3 750.
Toutefois, huit sportifs ont vu leur dossier suspendu. La plus en vue est certainement l’haltérophile médaillée d’argent lors des derniers Jeux du Commonwealth Roilya Ranaivosoa. Le spécialiste du triple saut Jonathan Drack figure également sur cette liste. C’est le badminton qui compte le plus d’éléments parmi ceux dont le dossier a été suspendu.
