To Hon. Vidya Narayen

Your Lordship,
Despite adopting the Westminsterial form of Parliament and the Privy Council as our Apex Court, we have not acquired the graciousness that goes with them. We are insisting on going public over a matter that should have been decided within the privacy of an Office. Our misfortune is that we are condemned to stay on the learning curve.
In the face of this crime of dignity, you have taken the courteous decision to refuse to become the Vice-President of a country competing to become the laughing stock of the civilized world. Shame does not seem to feature in the lexicon of some grandees whose mothers should have thrown them away and kept the stork.
Thank you for keeping alive the atmosphere of chivalry.
