If I were Santa

If I were Santa,

I would have chosen

To gift the children of the world

Yes, I would,

With presents made of different substance!

Pray, I would have given them

Laughter, families,

Trust, love, care,

Peace, happiness,

Food, shelter and clothing

To last as long as Existence would

Deem them to!

If I were Santa,

I would have chosen

To gift the adults of the world

Yes, I would,

With presents made of different substance!

Pray, I would have given them

Reason, notion, concept, purpose,

Insight, love, brotherhood, sharing,

Selflessness, actions and humility

To last as long as Existence would

Deem them to!

If I were Santa,

I would have chosen

To give Earth, our mother,

Yes, I would,

With presents made of different substance!

Pray, I would have given her

Accountability seen in her children

Merely to allow her to return to being

A state of heaven where living

Feels as ambient as does a dip

In a clean and fresh clearwater pond!

If I were Santa,

Pray, I would have offered healing

To each and every parcel of this world

Being so like a revolving mess

In a sea of confusion

A sea,

Controlled by a whirlpool

Which engulfs everything approaching it

In its vicious cycle!

Why, if only,

I could be Santa!
