Be with vindicable anger
consumed ; be ignited
by condign indignation ,for
the heat is on, the dreaded
prospect too near.
Blame not Hephaestus
Ra or Agni;
they endowed the universe
with its sparks of vitality,
the creative force and
its destructive counterpart
in one generative act combined.
You have been on your part
adding fuel to the fire,
burning the ground
under your feet, filling the air
with acridity,
tipping the existential scales
it is feared irrevocably.
In the precious moments
left, pulling all the stops
the cataclysmic steps reverse;
draw well back from the brink,
as survival is at stake.
