2014 SEASON : New Trainers Licences

Les modalités concernant l’octroi de nouvelles licences pour les entraîneurs pour la saison 2014 sont prêtes. Par rapport à l’avant-projet qui était en circulation depuis le 17 septembre dernier, on a surtout noté que la position d’Assistant Stable Manager a été ajoutée à la liste en ce qui concerne les demandes pour une licence d’entraîneur. Mais on a aussi noté que pour ce qui est des éventuels examens écrits et oraux, l’Assistant Stable Manager n’est pas concerné. C’est à en rire ou à en pleurer !
In 2014, the MTC proposes to issue Trainers licences with classifications A, B & C.( Class A Licence: 31 to 50 horses ; Class B : 15 to 30 horses ; Class C : 6 to 14 horses). New applications from Mauritian nationals are invited.
Applicants must specify on their application form the class of licence required and must fulfill the following conditions for an application to be accepted:
The Applicant has held a Trainer’s licence from the Mauritius Turf Club in the past and has a good record.
Or
The Applicant has held or holds an Assistant Trainer’s licence issued by the Mauritius Turf Club for at least three years or has suitable experience as an Assistant Stable Manager and has a good record.
Or
The Applicant has held or holds a Trainer’s licence issued by a foreign recognized horseracing authority and has a good record.
Or
The Applicant has held or holds an Assistant Trainer’s licence issued by a foreign recognized horseracing authority for at least three years or has suitable experience and has a good record. A recommendation from his/her previous employer may be required.
Extra Requirements
Applicants, including former Stable Managers, Trainers and Assistant Trainers,  shall be subjected to written and practical examinations prepared by the MTC on a date and at a place to be determined by the MTC. It is compulsory for an Applicant to produce a character reference certificate (certificat de moralité) and be sponsored by two Members of the MTC.
In 2014, every Trainer, new or already licensed, must have a minimum of four newly imported horses not older than 4 years and with a Mauritian Rating of 30 or more. These horses should be classified  here in at least three different Rating Brackets. Two-year olds, that are unrated or with a Mauritian rating of less than 30, will also qualify as a newly imported horses.
Every Applicant must submit, to the MTC, the Budget of his stable and a Bank Guarantee before a licence for 2014 is issued. The value of the Bank Guarantee is set according to the licence classification:
Rs1,000,000. for a Class A licence; Rs750,000. for a Class B licence; Rs500,000. for a Class C licence
Applications
Applicants must ensure that their application forms reach the office of the General Manager of the MTC by 16h00 on Friday 15 November 2013 at latest. All documents required must accompany the application form failing which the application will be rejected. The decision of the Board of Administrative Stewards will be final.
