GILBERT ROUSSET : L’ascension de Cherish The Charm

« We have high expectations for Cherish The Charm and he actually showed what a very good horse he is. To be honest, he should have won a lot easier, three lengths at least, if that incident at the start did not happen. His nose got stuck in the gates when they opened. I had to chase him to go around the field and to the front. And he still won. Wow!
« I sincerely thought it was a false start, that my gates did not open correctly. But it was my horse’s fault as he got his nose stuck. I did scream to the starter that it was a false start at the time but when I saw the film and when they zoomed in, there was no doubt that my horse was at fault for this incident », nous a expliqué Derreck David.  « He’s a good galloper though and I don’t think it’s a good thing to restrain him. However, if someone wants to challenge him for the lead, I’m sure he’ll be alright sitting second as he’s already won like that in the past ».
Night In Seattle a beaucoup hang in all the way.
« It’s hard to tell this horse’s limits but we’ll have a better idea in the Derby. Rampant Ice ran a cracker, so I think he’s going to be the horse to beat in that race ».
« The Deacon hit the front like he was going to be the winner but greeness stopped him, he started to look at everything around. But well done to the stable for Smitten, that was the last race I expected him to win ».
