The morning clouds are closely following the sun
They are like clutching it
The sun is riding its chariot across the heavens
and piercing across the grey clouds
Gleams of sunshine lighten the heaviness in the sky and in hearts
The island is resting after rioting thoughts and feelings expressed in recklessness
Has drowned us in stupor
What God decrees, this is what happens
Who can prevent the sun from shining every morning?
Who can prevent the darkened clouds from chasing the glorious rays?
This is our hope that we cling too —
Unity in diversity
We are only One: a nation.
Yesterday I saw my little, red-crested friend
Always busy looking for food for its family or a twig for a nest
My heart skipped a beat
It has ignited a spark in my soul
On the table, a bouquet of broccoli, kidney beans from their pods are enjoying the sun gleam
This wonderful bouquet will be part of my sustenance and a delight in the mouth
The birds are still greeting us
On a cable, one pigeon is sitting and meditating on its life, only its life
It has meaning and purpose
It does not trouble any other creature:
It does what it has been created for: fly, seek food, build a nest, find a partner and raise its young
And when the time for it comes to leave this earth, it will gracefully bid adieu
It has no time to be worried for nothing
Like these endless notifications and pop-ups that harass all of us across the world
We are all carrying our phones close to us as if we cannot live without them
Let’s follow nature and let’s learn lessons from these small, wise creatures
To learn to be content with our lot
