Demise of Sir Anerood JUGNAUTH, GCSK, KCMG, QC, PC

Message of Thanks

My family and myself wish to convey our deep gratitude to all those who have supported us, in one way or the other, and expressed their sympathy on the demise of Sir Anerood Jugnauth.

I wish to thank each and every person who paid a last homage to Sir Anerood Jugnauth, taking into account that sanitary protocols had to be observed in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I extend my sincere appreciation for the tribute paid to Sir Anerood Jugnauth by relatives, acquaintances, friends, foreign dignitaries in Mauritius and abroad, other well-wishers and the public in general during his last journey from La Caverne to SSR Botanic Garden.

I seize this opportunity to commend all the authorities which were involved in the organisation of the ceremonial funeral, namely the Mauritius Police Force including the Special Mobile Force, the Local Authorities, Ministries/Departments and other public institutions concerned, the media and the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden Trust.

A special note of thanks goes to the medical personnel and the security staff attached to Sir Anerood Jugnauth for their ever unflinching and dedicated support during those trying moments.
