L’artiste de Hawaii Kelandy Faustino Diaz, qui compte un répertoire de reggae, a animé la période de fin d’année sur la base militaire de Diego Garcia. C’est ce que confirme le Pentagone sur son site Web en ce début d’année.
« The Armed Forces Network hires civilian bands to travel and visit bases, helping raise the morale of the troops. Kelandy was hired on such a contract and has done three tours around the world », note le Département US de la Défense.
« Kelandy Diaz was born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, his voice has a diverse spectrum and he has the ability to roll through lyrics with beautiful artistry. Kelandy started playing with other bands in 2011 and has since performed only as a solo artist », ajoutent les autorités américaines, qui rappellent que le père de cet artiste a servi dans l’armée des Etats-Unis pendant 32 ans.
« I was a military brat, traveled all over the place. We went everywhere ! I have the upmost respect for all Armed Forces », déclare Kelandy Faustino Diaz, conquis par ce qu’il a vécu sur la base de Diego Garcia.
« I will always come to Diego Garcia. You guys are so hospitable and welcoming and the military knows how to get down », dit-il en conclusion.
